* <del>Fix weird termination issue on the wide cam from York Come Dancing.</del>  This seems to be DaVEp169's "5 in".  I noticed that If Camera 1 DA is sent to Mux 1,2,3, or 4 and DaVE 1, 2, 3, or 4 is set as an output, the output looks fine.  Therefore not a Camera 1 DA termination issue.  DaVE 1,2,3,4 in come directly out of DaVE P169 A,B,C,D (ideally, currently DaVE 2 in is permanently set to Camera 2 since DaVE P169 B was unreliable).  Since the problem is displayed on the DaVE 1 monitor (attached to DaVE 1 DA) '''''and''' DaVE out it can't be a DaVE 1 DA termination issue.

I tested this theory thoroughly.  Edit 1 DA currently displays colour bars from MAX so I used that.  I took three colour bar outputs from Edit 1 DA, and barrelled them to the BNCs which come from cameras 1,2,3 in patch panel 71,72,73.  This showed the problem was on Camera 1.  Camera 2 is wired up differently from 1 and 3 due to the DaVE P169 B out issue.  I swapped over terminators on Camera 1 DA with Camera 2 DA, and DaVE 1 DA wth DaVE 2 DA.  In both cases the prblem was still with camera 1.

To further confirm theory, from the start I noticed that setting DaVE P169 A out to 7 (Camera 3 DA) and DaVE P169 C out to 5 (Camera 1 DA) caused the problem to be on DaVE's input 3 colour bars, IE from input 5 on DaVE P169.  Setting DaVE P169 A out equal to 5 in, and C out equal to 7 in caused the problem to be on DaVE 1 in.

I think I can safely say that DaVE P169 is only currently useful as a 7x3 switcher, not an 8x4.

Solutions:
Without rewiring anything we could set up, say, Mux 3 as Camera 1 DA (Mux 1 and 2 go into VT P169 I think, so probably not a good idea to commit them to a camera).  We then set DaVE P169 A out to DaVE P169 3 in.  So Camera 1 goes to DA, goes to Mux 3, Goes to Dave 3 in, goes to DaVE P169 A out, goes to DaVE 1 in.
This has the disadvantage of restricting one of the Mux outs.

Rewiring DaVE P169 so that DaVE P169 8 in is Camera 1 DA (DaVE P169 in is currently Edit 1 DA, which if needed could be selected on a Mux out).  Then output DaVE 8 in to DaVE P169 A out to Dave 1 in.

I'd be inclined towards the second option since it will be another long-term 'temporary' fix.--[[User:Malcolm.chambers|Malcolm.chambers]] 22:43, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
