Here is a table of how the monitors in the rack are identified. The monitor patch panel also gives the option of a monitor 19 and a monitor 20. Unfortunately there's not much provision in the rack of space to occupy them, so if 19 or 20 are used they're usually simply a monitor placed on the floor.

Over the Christmas holiday DaVE Program and DaVE Preview will probably be swapped over.  This was Iain Cooke's idea at the start of term to be conducive to new members learning how DaVE works.  I didn't do it then with everything else happening, and nearer the end of term the freshers had already got used to it one way so I didn't want to swap it over and confuse them.  Hopefully the festive celebrations will mean people have forgotten which monitor displays what and the won't notice them in a more sensible arrangement when they arrive back at the start of the Spring term.--[[User:Malcolm.chambers|Malcolm.chambers]] 20:39, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

The monitor rack as of 11/11/2013. HEY FIX THIS NEED A NEW PHOTO

This is where we place all the monitors to allow us to see what's happening at different parts of the vision path. Mainly it contains the large multiview screen for the vision mixer and the director.

Power

The monitor rack is fed power from circuits 1 and 2 in the control room. Circuit 1 powers the left side, while 2 does the right.

Signal

The monitors are connected to the OB unit currently being used in the studio via a COAX cable to a distribution panel near the unit behind the sound station which is converted from HDMI by a converter.

The Stream monitor is fed directly via HDMI from a capture card in the server rack.
