Now that YSTV users no longer have access to dropbox, the computing team would like to encourage you to use the more secure method described below. This will also allow you to access your files, on any machine with an internet connection.

If you create a folder in your home directory (the H:/ drive in Windows, or /home/yourusername in Unix) called 'www', and then save a file within this folder, this will then appear on the YSTV website. To retrive the file, simply type the following URL into the address bar in your chosen web broswer - http://ystv.co.uk/~yourusername/ (replace yourusername with your YSTV login username eg. 'jane.doe'). This will show a list of all the files saved in the 'www' folder in your home directory. If you then right click the file name and choose 'Save Target As', and in the pop up window choose a destination and then click 'save', the file will be downloaded to this destination. However, please note you will not be able to save any changes you have made to the file back onto the website, unless you are inside YSTV and logged into one of the PCs, as otherwise you can not access your home directory! Alternatively if you simply wish to view the file, right click the file name and choose 'Open'. This will open a preview of the file in your web browser, but you will not be able to make any changes!

Please note this process will only work for users who have their own YSTV account, and have access to webmail.
